WORKPLACE SANS FONT
| Version 0.71 (2010-07-04)

INTRODUCTION

Workplace Sans is a light semi-condensed sans-serif TrueType font with Unicode
encoding. It has been designed for use as a dialog/user interface font, and
is intended to resemble the OS/2 bitmap font "WarpSans" as much as possible.
(This resemblance is at its closest when displayed at 9pt/120 dpi or
  11pt/96dpi size.

Due to its rudimentary hinting, it displays best when anti-aliased (under
  environments that support this).

INSTALLATION

To install this font under OS/2, use the Font Palette (choose 'Edit', then
'Add', and type in the name of the temporary directory where the font files
  are located).

To install under Windows, use the menu options of the Font applet under the
Control Panel to install the font.

To upgrade from a previous release under either Windows or OS/2, close all
applications, then copy WPSU.TTF over the existing copy (usually located in
\PSFONTS under OS/2, or \WINNT\FONTS under Win2K/XP). If you get an error
that the file cannot be written, you may have to reboot first. In either
case, you will have to reboot after updating the file.

Users of other operating systems should undertake whatever steps are
  appropriate for their platform.

NOTICES

This typeface was inspired by the OS/2 bitmap font "WarpSans", which is
presumed to be copyright (C) IBM Corporation. However, the author's view
(consistent with legal precedent) is that Workplace Sans is an independent
| creative work and is not in any way a derivative of WarpSans.

Outline fonts such as Workplace Sans and raster fonts such as WarpSans are
so fundamentally different in design and implementation that the one cannot
reasonably be considered a derivative of the other.

| Starting with version 0.71, I have provided alternative builds of Workplace
| Sans which contain embedded bitmaps. While many of the 9pt/120dpi (15 pixel)
| size bitmaps are very similar to those of WarpSans, they were derived
| independently by rasterizing the outlines and then cleaning up the images
| manually. The author hopes that this process qualifies as sufficiently
| independent to avoid legal entanglements. If any copyright holder(s) of
| WarpSans wish to register an objection, they are advised to contact the
| author.

Starting with version 0.6, Workplace Sans is licensed under the SIL Open
Font License. The terms are listed below.

SIL OPEN FONT LICENSE Version 1.1 - 26 February 2007
-----------------------------------------------------------

PREAMBLE
The goals of the Open Font License (OFL) are to stimulate worldwide
development of collaborative font projects, to support the font creation
efforts of academic and linguistic communities, and to provide a free and
open framework in which fonts may be shared and improved in partnership
with others.

The OFL allows the licensed fonts to be used, studied, modified and
redistributed freely as long as they are not sold by themselves. The
fonts, including any derivative works, can be bundled, embedded,
redistributed and/or sold with any software provided that any reserved
names are not used by derivative works. The fonts and derivatives,
however, cannot be released under any other type of license. The
requirement for fonts to remain under this license does not apply
to any document created using the fonts or their derivatives.

DEFINITIONS
"Font Software" refers to the set of files released by the Copyright

"Reserved Font Name" refers to any names specified as such after the
copyright statement(s).

"Original Version" refers to the collection of Font Software components as
distributed by the Copyright Holder(s).

2) Original or Modified Versions of the Font Software may be bundled,
redistributed and/or sold with any software, provided that each copy
contains the above copyright notice and this license. These can be
included either as stand-alone text files, human-readable headers or

binary files as long as those fields can be easily viewed by the user.

3) No Modified Version of the Font Software may use the Reserved Font
Name(s) unless explicit written permission is granted by the corresponding
Copyright Holder. This restriction only applies to the primary font name as
presented to the users.

4) The name(s) of the Copyright Holder(s) or the Author(s) of the Font

permission.

5) The Font Software, modified or unmodified, in part or in whole,
must be distributed entirely under this license, and must not be
