Documentation for mission: Air Traffic Control

Creator: Jonathan Chen (MastrMind3@aol.com)
Creation Date: 8-96
Player: GDI
Map: Medium (50x47), Winter Theater
Requires: Command & Conquer, Covert Operations
Tested On: 486DX2/66 Patch v1.19
Difficulty: Moderate
Filename: AIRTRFC.ZIP
File Contents: SCG52EA.INI, SCG52EA.BIN, AIRTRFC.TXT

Installation:
Unzip the ZIP file then copy the INI and BIN file to your C&C directory,
and just start up the game, and if you have Covert Operations, the
mission should appear in the NEW MISSIONS menu. Alternatively, you
can replace files using MIXMAN which is described at several places
if you do not have Covert Operations. Note: A savegame was not
included to save upload/download time and because that would cause
you to miss out on the opening cutscenes.

Mission Description:
We have spotted several Nod units paratrooping into this area. They
have erected an Airstrip and some defenses. They are about to fly
in an MCV to erect a complete base. We cannot allow them to
establish a presence here. Direct our Engineer who is waiting in
a friendly town to the Nod Airstrip and take it over. Once we
have control of the Airstrip's communications tower, we will pose
as Nod Air Traffic Controllers and give the inbound plane incorrect
navigational information which should cause it to have some
"technical difficulties" when attempting to land.

Level Description:
Here's a GDI commando mission, but this time you get support from a
couple of Mammoths instead of troops. The majority of the mission
is relatively simple as you snipe infantry and let your Mammoths
and a squad of grenadiers deal with armored units. At one point,
you will face an Obelisk at a river crossing, but don't worry
about it (hehe). However, the final fight with a fairly large
group of Noddies you may find difficult. From there all you have
to do is capture the Airstrip and you may enjoy an amusing cutscene.
This mission should probably take about 20-30 minutes to complete.
By the way, I admit that the idea of giving false navigational info
to cause the plane to crash is an idea I got from a movie (Die
Hard 2). Just as the first mission I made, Hell Valley, I got the
idea to incinerate bio-hazards with napalm, from the movie, The Rock.

Known Bugs:
    None.

Thanks to:
Andrew Griffin and Vladan Blato for the software they both created and
for being nice enough to answer the editing questions I posted.
Han Brunger for a useful INI editing manual.
Jeroen Ritmeijer and Richard Heesbeen for the really cool CCMAP.

Finally:
If you like this mission, or you hate it, please send me a comment at
MastrMind3@aol.com. In particular, please send anything which may
help me create future missions. Thanks.
