DMADDON1 This file is a collection of brushes done by Derrick McKay for the QuakeMap Quake editor by Armin Rigo. To use this file, simply make a file "link" either from the QuakeMap explorer, or from directly in QuakeMap via the "new item" window. I have purposely used generic textures (ie: don't need extensive aligning) due to the fact that depending on the XYZ coordinates of the item, the textures will appear out of alignment. If you wish to modify any of these items and save the changes to this addon file, simply "copy" the item when you're finished the modifications, and then go back to the QuakeMap Explorer (after saving your current level of course). Then click on the "link to dmaddon1" icon, and choose "open this file". Delete the original (or not...your choice) and "paste" the modified item into the list. Then save. The next time you open your level with the link to "dmaddon1", your modified item will appear in the "new item" list. Included in this file are: ******************* Lighting Brushes ******************* - Torch Base A "torch holder". This item is made up of 3 brushes and is slightly more ornate than most of the regular holders I've seen. - Light Stand A floor stand that has an enclosed top that's open on one side. It's got a normal "light" entity in it, but you can modify it easily. - Overhead Light Kinda like those big sodium lights you see in a gymnasium, but bigger. Nothing fancy, but looks neat with a light globe on a high ceiling. - Ring Light A 3 tiered round light fixture kinda like a chandelier, but simpler. The middle tier is a walkway. I have experienced "unable to create brush" errors on one section of the top round section, but not always. ****************** Teleports ****************** - Teleport Small A smaller teleport than the one with QuakeMap, this one has rounded corners, and is thinner. Includes matching teleport destination that you can just drag to where you want it, and change the "angle" - Teleport Round Small A smaller version of the "round" teleporter that is included with QuakeMap, it has 4 lights included, and a matching teleport destination. You *may* have to move the lights slightly closer to the center of the teleport if they don't show up. - 4 Sided Teleport This is a small square building with 4 entries, and 4 teleports with matching destinations named "4st*". Included are internal lighting (strong pulse), and external torches (style 1). As with the other teleports, drag the destinations to where you want them, and set the "angle". ****************** Round Cage ****************** As the description implies, it's a round cage that is open on the top, and has one side open. If you want to enclose it, it's easy enough to copy/paste a bar. ****************** Sniper Tower ****************** A fairly small generic sniper tower that is meant to be changed and modified. ****************************************************************************** You are welcome to do anything you want with these items, except include them in anything remotely involving Actura (sp?)
