* Play Information *

Level Name : Base Desires... by Overlord.UK

Single Player : Giggle
Cooperative 1-32 Player : Could get a bit boring with no monsters
Deathmatch 2-32 Player : Designed for 8+ players.
Difficulty Settings : It does what it says on the box
Designation : Designed for Free For All play, it may prove to be
suitable for teamplay but that's not what I made it
for and I haven't tried it yet so have no idea :)

New Graphics : Yes, mainly texture alterations to create custom
			  wall insignias and SpawnPads.
.map Included : No, but the .MAP and Worldcraft .RMF files are
available on request if you supply a reason :)
Software needed to play : Duh, Quake, software or GL version.
(ctf, normal quake etc.)

Comments : This is my first map, so is not likely to be the best
map you have ever seen, but I think it's not a bad
effort overall. There's a mixture of different styles
used, which was mainly due to the fact that I tried to
add a little 'character' to it. The Base style is
particularly dominant in the main RL section (which you
may notice leans strongly towards DM3) and the one that
I intially set out to use, but as it was my first map
I expanded out a little and included the DM2 style and
			  also an outside area.

There is a definete trend at the moment towards creating
faceless maps that are trying to look too like Quake2
creations, ending up as impressive architectural creations
but boring as hell to look at and confusing to learn your
way around, something which negates the entire point to me.
This map is pure Classic Quake thru and thru with clearly
			  defined areas (imho).

This map is designed for the CCT FFA league, so is
reasonably large to accomadate as many players as possible
			  in reasonable comfort.

Feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think,
particularly seeing as it's my first ever level :)

* Construction *

Base : Brand new level design.
Build Time : On and off over the course of some 2 months.
At least 30 hours, but that includes at least 2 false starts
leading to starting from scratch again because of getting to
grips with the concept of creating Quake levels.

Times & stats :System Used : Celeron266 @ 400MHz
                 Qbsp : Of Course
                 Vis (-level 4) : 823 Seconds
Light (-extra) : Would be hard to see without it
Brushes : Some in there somewhere.
                 entities : Almost Definetely.
                 miptex : Wasn't he a muppet or something ?

Texture WAD used: Quake standard
		  Hipnotic
		  Rogue
		  Various anonymous collections
		  Q3Test (by Paroxysm).
Editor(s) used : Worldcraft 1.6
Known Bugs : Nothing major, not checked for software mode grey
outs at time of release tho.
You may notice the GL warterwarping underneath the
outside area bridge is quite bad, but that's more
a GLQuake problem than anything else.
