Description : A medium-sized deathmatch level similar to the DM
arenas in Quake, with 4 rooms (5 if you include the
			  map room)

To make the above look clearer, look at it from a distance

This is my first Quake map. It's called Red Chipolata Palace. There is a
water column that goes halfway round the level, I decided to put that in as a
novelty. The basic map consists of a main middle room with four smaller rooms
leading off that. In each of the smaller rooms, you'll find a teleport. These
teleport you to what I call the map, which is a very small room with four
teleports in it. Each one takes you to one of the small rooms. Play the level
and you'll get the idea. For reference, the main room is the big high one
with the water running at the top round the edge. Look around for the doors
leading off to the four small rooms, get to know the level, and happy
blasting! THIS LEVEL IS DESIGNED FOR DEATHMATCH, AS IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY
MONSTERS OR EXITS. You can go into this level in Single Player to look around
but I recommend playing Multiplayer with a friend, or playing with a good bot
program like QBot.

ABOUT THE ROOMS IN THIS MAP
\===========================/
MAIN ROOM: This has the water running around the top. Have a swim around in
this. If you're a sniper, there's a good sniping spot at the end of the
water. To get to the water, find your way to the second floor (going up
ramps) You should be able to swim up a water column. At the top of it is a
ledge with ammo. Shoot the button next to it and the ledge will extend and
you can jump onto it and get the ammo. Then swim on and round, get to the
end of the water 'tube' and see what's there.
There is also Megahealth and a thunderbolt in the Main room on a ledge, you
can see it from the top of the water column. To get to it, look for the
moving platform, and hop on. It's in a very exposed place, however, and
you'll need to watch out for missiles wandering in your direction.
On the ground floor (the basement-type thing with walltorches and health)
there is a shootable wall which will open to reveal yellow armour. See if you
can find it. It is on this ground floor that lots of killings take place, so
if you've got the Pentagram of Protection (yes, there is one on this level)
go down here with a rocket launcher, and a Quad Damage if you can find it.

ROOM WITH THE LAVA (you think of a better name!): To get to this from the
MAIN ROOM, find the start of the water column and face the near wall. You'll
see a door. Go through it. Simple as that!
In this room there are three switches, all of which do the same thing. They
all retract and extend the bridge across the lava. One switch (shootable) is
at the other side of the lava (There should be a Ring of Shadows, a rocket
launcher and two 25% health boxes here too). Another (pressable) switch is
obvious, and the third (shootable) switch is located in a darkened place in
the room. I'll leave you to figure it out. Also in this room is more health,
a nailgun (slap bang in the middle, can't miss it) and red armour. There's
also a teleport that takes you to the MAP ROOM.

ROOM WITH THE WALLS ABOUT SIX INCHES OFF THE GROUND: The reason why I named
this room ROOM WITH THE WALLS ABOUT SIX INCHES OFF THE GROUND is because the
walls are about six inches off the ground, ideal for posting grenades to
someone over the other side of the wall. In this room, there is a
Super Nailgun (or Perforator, or whatever you like to call it), some yellow
armour and some cells. There is an obvious teleport, to the MAP ROOM.

BLUE-WALLED ROOM WITH THE WOODEN OBLONG THING: This comprises a ramp to the
MAIN ROOM, a teleport to the MAP ROOM, a platform lift thing, a nailgun, more
yellow armour, some nails. There's also a Quad Damage somewhere in this room.

ROOM WITH THE METAL WALLS, PURPLE SKY AND GREEN FLOOR: There's nothing
special in this room, so I'll just outline what's in it: some green armour,
some health, a grenade launcher and some ammo. Also a teleport to the MAP
ROOM.

MAP ROOM: I thought this system up while sitting in an English lesson at
school. It's basically a very small room with four teleports at one end (the
MAP ROOM, not the school). At the foot of each teleport there is a square
thing. This tells you what room the teleport goes to (eg the teleport with
the blue stone at the bottom leads to the BLUE-WALLED ROOM WITH THE WOODEN
OBLONG THING. The only way to get to the MAP ROOM is by teleport. There's a
teleport to the MAP ROOM in every room but the MAIN ROOM, so once you've seen
one room, you've seen them all! It also provides quick access from one room
to the next.

INSTALLATION
\============/
Unzip the rcpalace.bsp file using WinZip or PKUNZIP or whatever (you can find
these on magazine coverdisks). You must unzip it into the Quake\Id1\Maps
directory (if you haven't got a Maps directory, make one now). When you have
the rcpalace.bsp into the Quake\Id1\Maps directory, run quake, access the
console (press the key to the left of the 1 and above the TAB on most
keyboards) and type:

MAP RCPALACE

You should now be in the level. If you're not there, you've probably got a
message saying "Couldn't spawn server/maps/rcpalace.bsp" or something. Check
you've installed the rcpalace.bsp file into the Quake\Id1\Maps directory,
and that you've spelt MAP RCPALACE correctly.

OTHER STUFF BY ME
\=================/
I made the insane quake mod. It is called insane.zip and can be obtained from
ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames2/incoming. It is my first mod, and this is my
first map, and I'm quite pleased with them both. If you like anything made by
me, PLEASE mail me with feedback, cos I want to know if people are actually
downloading these things! The insane mod comprises a lot of exploding fish
and some silly sounds. It is completely insane, like me.
