*Personal impressions and thoughts about PLaNeT HaRDCoRe

Just for your info:Planet Hardcore was closed for 8 months, because of a
fight earlier this year, ( in my opinion it was blown up, just to have a reason to close it )
they hoped Planet Hardcore would stop existing after 8
                    months of closing time..)

BUT as you might already have seen : we survived.. and how....

 [The re-opening of PLaNeT HaRDCoRe]

At december 9th Planet Hardcore finally opened it's doors again after a long
time of silence.. (closed for 8 months due to a fight at a thunderdome party)
When entering for the first time you get the possibility to get yourself your
personal membership card.. A security-guard checks you if you haven't brought
any drugs or weapons with you..
This goes very quickly, so everybody can get in without waiting too long.
Remember,we like to keep it NICE and CLEAN inside our disco. So take all your
stuff before you enter the place, because like every decent discotheque we'd
like to proove to the world that a housetemple does not have to be equal to a
drugtemple!!!
Btw., just leave your knife or any violent things at home. There really is no
need for it inhere.
House is not an agressive music-style.. it's a way of expressing yourself, let
others see how good you feel tnx to the music.

When entering the dancefloor, everything still seems the same : Loud music,
special lightshows thanks to two full colored lasers, a lot of roboscans, and
a mindflashing stroboscope,...
You can dance at the dancefloor, or in one of the dancecages, or climb your
way up and become one with the air that breaths smoothly into your hair.
The discobar is situated in the middle of the Place. I haven't watched it at
the re-opening,but there used to be a double denon with pitch, a rodec mixing
table, 3 turntables, a dat-player,...
Two computers and complete mixing table guide all the lights and lasers with
the music.
In front of the discobar you'll find the dancefloor and bar, behind the disco-
bar there are all kinds of platforms where you can dance your ass off while
the lasers are making you look just like one colorful spectacle.

When TOFKE get's behind the discobar, the real house-freaks know it's time to
fade away in a perfect mix of hardtrance, hardcore and from time to time some
real trancy 'out of this planet' tunes...
Tofke is (in my opinion) one of Belgium's best dj's of the moment. His way of
making perfect mixes is getting you higher and higher... He was there at the
beginning of Planet hardcore, and he still is now..
(he prooved himself recently at MAYDAY 7, for as far as I know THE BEST rave
party ever seen in Europe..)

Besides of Tofke, Franky Jones (Bonza Supreme Team, Mayday 6,...)
Bounty Hunter (Bonza Supreme Team, Montini,...)
Dave (Say No More, Planet HardCore,...)
                  Bart & Guy (Planet Hardcore)
                  Dave Davis (Belgica Wave, Bonza,...)
and Marco Baily (La Scala, Dance Opera, Planet Hardcore,...)
were playing so good, you would almost think their life depended on it..

When the laser is not used,it's kinda dark inhere wich is cool. Like this you
can move your body equal with the music, experimenting, while nobody looks at
you while thinking : "What the hell is he doin' now ?" NO, everybody on the
dancefloor is becoming one with the music and his soul.
The great thing about house that there isn't a real competition of becoming
the best.. Just let yourself go together with the music, and feel your entire
body getting satisfied.

When you are a little tired of dancing , you can get a drink at the bar , and
sit down or relax at the CHILL OUT ROOM , the music isn't so loud inhere , so
you can change experiences with other hardcore freaks.

* Impressions and facts about Planet Hardcore :

If you are someone who goes out of his head when hearing Robert Armani,or you
like to dance yourself wild on Yves De Ruyter's new record : calling earth,
you are at the right place here. Bonzai & Dance opera are two labels who are
more than once on the DJ's table.
Nobody can stand still once he or she enters the dancefloor, you feel yourself
floading away while the music climbs to it's climax.
The music is quite loud, but hey, we came here to dance, not to have a little
chat about the dog from the neighbour :))
The Hardcore genre rulez at Planet Hardcore, but also trance, rave,techno....
are certainly not left alone in a corner.
Soon there will be opened a new room:THE MELLOW ROOM.. At this moment I don't
know yet what they will make of it.. we'll see later..
PLANET HARDCORE also released it's FIRST HARDCORE RECORD at 16th DECEMBER
(1000 first ravers that day had a copy of it for free)
Planet Hardcore was becoming one of the best places to be in Belgium
at the time it had to close.Everybody thought it would be the end of a dream,
like the awake after a trip. But now it's opened again, and it will be number
one again in no time..
It's too bad there isn't a parking like at Cherry Moon , so you have to park
your car somewhere near. Don't worry, security-guards with dogs are all night
supervising, that there isn't anything happening with your car.

Few, I think more than 100 lines (TYPED lines, not WHITE ones, eheh) have said
enough about The Planet.
REMEMBER this text-file is only my personal opinion.. to convince you. And if
I haven't convinced you yet, I suppose I never will...
(I suppose you are not even a house-fan at all then ?)
The only thing left for me to say is : visit it once, and you will come back
for certain.

Events coming up next :

at 09/12 there was : re-opening Planet Hardcore, with the whole DJ team
at 16/12 there was : 1 year Planet Hardcore-release first record-full DJ team

At the time of this release (17/12/94) there were no dates available yet for
the next party, but like in the past, Planet Hardcore keeps bringing you the
best in house at a speed that will awake you like hell, but still let you
dream forever.

Release 2 / Apollo; rating 5/10 -> update(*) ; 2/10
Release 3 / Cherry Moon; rating 9/10
Release 4 / Qu; rating 6/10
Release 5 / Planet Hardcore; rating 9/10

(*) Update:

In release 2, Apollo got a rating of 5/10. This has now been lowered to 2/10,
becoz of the fact that Faber, the DJ overthere, doesn't play at Apollo anymore.
Instead, there is a sucker who plays tracks like 'Sex machine' from James
Brown! AAAARRRGH!!!

Note:

This series of txt files on Belgian Clubs is just for your information. This
should never be considered positive or negative publicity whatsoever. The opini
on is this of a biased person; you may find that a club which gets a lower ra-
ting is better than one with a higher rating. However, MOST people can follow
this as a guideline when choosing a place where they wanna go out.
