 ; We would like to invite you to the CORE underground computer arts meeting, ;

In Hungary, sceneparties already have a decade of tradition. In the past
years, some parties achieved exceptional importance and fame. One party,
AntiQ, held in Pcs in the last five years, rose above the others.
Unfortunately, despite the great success, the organizers decided that last
year's AntiQ 2000 was the last. We thought, however, that the
party-traditions in august have to live on, that's why we started the
   organizing of CORE.

The orgainizing staff is regularly attending the country-wide held parties
for many years now, and during this time, we also have played a
significant role in the organizing of several parties. We hope that we
have gathered enough experience and skill to provide a smooth party with
   great atmosphere for everyone's satisfaction.

The basis of a good atmosphere is if you go to a party that is for You.
CORE is for you, if you are interested in alternative arts and computers,
if you are a lover of some old computer type, if you are curious what the
newest hardwares are capable of, if they are used in expert coding hands.
But be aware that this party is NOT the best choice for you, if you are
only interested in computer games, and you wanna just some network play...

. The most simple thing is, if you come with InterCity. You get on the train .
at Budapest South Railway Station, and after about 3 hours you get off in
Zalaegerszeg. That's all. However, if you come with express train, there
are some things good to know. First of all if you come from Budapest, pay
attention that you get in the right carriage, because generally one train
is travelling to Szombathely and Zalaegerszeg, which is split up at Boba
station. The carriages coming to Zalaegerszeg can be found generally at
the end of the train, but if you are unsure, try to ask somebody. People
coming from the direction of Pecs, Szombathely and Nagykanizsa, be aware
that most of the time you have to change trains at Zalaszentivan station.
Before you come, take a look at Elvira (www.elvira.hu), because due to the
new railroad connection with Slovenia, many things have changed and will
change. The place can be reached from the railway station by the number
10Y and 11Y buses. Unfortunately these buses are a bit rare, so we
recommend that with help of the provided map, find a way to a bus stop of
the number 8, 8E or 8C buses, (approx. 250m from the railway station, 3
mins walk), because these bring you almost directly to the partyplace
   (running-time is about 10 mins).

   By bus

The mass transit companies run direct buses countrywide from all big
cities to Zalaegerszeg. Arriving at the bus station, start off towards the
information box and waiting hall. Walk by the left side of the big
timetables, leaving the bus station, walk through between the shops.
Before you are two big flats, if you go between them through, you get to a
parking lot. Go through it and you will get to a one-way two-lane street.
This is the Kroly Kovcs Square. 30 metres to the left is a bus stop,
facing the Domus and Centrum stores. The number 8 bus is starting off from
here, which gets you in about 15 mins to the partyplace. If you
accidentally get to McDonald's, there you can also get on the buses 8, 8E
or 8C. If you get lost, you can always try to ask someone.

There is another possibility for the people coming from Budapest, the
Gratis Bus, which starts daily from the front of South Railway Station,
and only stops once on the highway, before it arrives in Zalaegerszeg.
This is the fastest and probably the most comfortable way of travelling to
Zalaegerszeg. It is also possible to transport your computers on the bus.
Arriving at Zalaegerszeg, the bus stops at McDonald's, where you can
directly get on the buses 8, 8E or 8C. Final stop is at the railway
station, from there you can reach the number 8 bus' stop in 3 mins. By the
way, the Gratis Bus is also running Sundays, starts off in the early
morning to Budapest, so you can also go back with it. Detailed timetable
   coming soon...

   By car

With the help of a roadmap, find a way to Zalaegerszeg. From this, follow
the map provided regarding the following: If you come from the direction
of Balaton on road no. 76, reaching the city limits, after the traffic
circle you get to a wide four-lane road. Go over the big railroad
overpass, then on the left comes the bus station, then right a big temple
with two towers. At this corner is the McDonald's, too, left across, you
can't miss it. Turn left at the traffic lights in line with the temple
towers. This is a one-way street, both lanes lead south through the city
centre. Get into the right lane, go until the lanes split at a statue.
Here are traffic lights again. Turn right (you can't turn elsewhere). You
are on a wide 4-lane street (Gcseji St.) At the second traffic lights
turn left. Now you are on Kztrsasg street. Go straight on it. After a
little while you leave the houses with gardens behind you, and you reach a
housing estate. Continue straight forward, until you get to a bus turning
after a Smack! store. Here a little street leads through the houses, which
ends in a parking lot after about 30 metres. If you got so far, you have
to see already a building with big AMK label on it, which is the
   partyplace.

People coming from the direction of Kormend have a 10 minutes trip through
the city until the city centre after they reach Zalaegerszeg. As you go
over the bridge of River Zala, on the right are some big grain silos. Then
come the Shell and Agip gas stations, a railroad crossing, a big factory
on the left, houses with gardens on the right. After this come the traffic
lights, go straight through them. After the fourth, you have to see the
temple with two towers on the left, and the McDonald's on the right. Here,
at the fifth traffic lights, turn right onto the one-way street. From now
on follow the directions above, so straight until the statue, then right,
at the second lights left, finally straight until the bus turning, then
   left.

Those who come from the direction of Vasvar or Sumeg, go over the bridge
of River Zala, then the railroad crossing (this is another bridge and
crossing than mentioned above, but you go over the same river and railroad
:). After this you have to see the temple with two towers. The road goes
round the temple to the right, then you have to see McDonald's across and
right. Go straight onto the one-way street (Kossuth St.) From now on
follow the directions above, so straight until the statue, then right, at
the second lights left, finally straight until the bus turning, then left.

If you come from the direction of Nagykanizsa, go until you reach a wide,
four-lane street (Balaton St.) Turn left here. Now comes the railroad
overpass mentioned above. From now on follow the directions above, so go
into the city until the temple, then left, straight until the statue, then
right, at the second lights left, finally straight until the bus turning,
   then left.

. For the demo compo, we accept releases with a maximum size of 24MB. The .
production can contain animations, but the whole demo can't be an
animation. If the demo exceeds the size limit, it will be put into the
wild compo. Productions made in half an hour, thought humorous by the
author, will be put into the Recycle.bin compo.

   64k intro compo rules:

We accept releases into this compo with a maximum size of 64 kilobytes,
that is 65536 bytes. Production exceeding the size limit will be put into
the demo category. The plain creations thought homorous will go to the
   Recycle.bin compo.

   4k intro compo rules:

We accept releases here with a maximum size of 4 kilobytes , that is 4096
bytes. Productions exceeding the size limit will be put into the 64k
category! We know that is hard to make anything in 4k, therefore we will
judge the 'humorous productions' not so strict, but also keep in mind that
a simple fire routine stolen from SWAG or downloaded from the net can also
easily go to the Recycle.bin compo...

   General rules:

For all three compos mentioned above apply these rules: If there are
enough releases, we will split the platforms, and they will be awarded
separately! In case of a PC release, please indicate whether the
production is for the DOS or Win32 category! Releases infected with a
virus will be automatically thrown out, so watch out!

Organizer of the demo and intro compos is Charlie/iNQ, address all
   questions and requests to him!

   Platforms you can choose:

Releases in all three categories have to run on one of the following
   platforms:

   PC Win32
      - Productions will be shown on the Windows compomachine.
      - The release has to run under Windows 2000.
      - If you use surround, please keep in mind that there will be only a
stereo audio system and the two front channels will sound.

   PC DOS
      - Productions will be shown on the DOS compomachine.
      - If the production has any special needs (EMS, no EMS, etc.),
please indicate it in the readme file.
      - Use of Gravis Ultrasound patches is forbidden.
      - The demo can be GUS only, but it also has to run in nosound mode.
      - Use of DOS extender is allowed.

  Amiga
      - Productions will be shown on the Amiga compomachine.
      - Please make the releases as system-friendly as possible.
      - The release can use the 68k and the PPC processor, too.
      - AGA or RTG can also be used.

  Linux
      - If you have a Linux release, it is necessary that you bring your
computer with you, otherwise we won't be able to show it.
      - Please put your system into a standard 640x480/60hz XWindow mode, in
which your release runs, because we don't know what the projector
will say the various exotic modelines...
      - Since the demo will be spread, please compile it with static
libraries, and indicate any extra requirements!
      - Stick to the deadline! There can be serious problems if we can't
try out the projector with your machine before the compos...

picture can be maximum 800x600. If your picture is bigger than this,
please include a converted version, too, or else we will convert it, but

enter your image in GIF, PNG, TGA or JPG format! In case of too many
releases, we will prejury, and the best 10 pictures will be shown. Every

would like to enter a competition, and they want a calm place for working
on the releases. They, and those who'd like to reserve enough place for
hardware trading, please contact Charlie/iNQ in e-mail.

 ; IMPORTANT: Bring distributor adapters and extension cords! This  can't  be ;

. so please bring at least an extension cord with enough sockets for you and .
your neighbour's extension cord! If you forget this, nobody will be able
to provide you power, and in case your neighbours won't get power, because
you don't have an extra socket for them, then they won't like you too
   much...

Smoking at the partyplace, especially in the compo room during the shows,
is forbidden. We won't lynch you if you smoke alone, but if this annoys
somebody in your surroundings, please go outside.

Alcoholic drinks and refreshing drinks of your choice are allowed. If you
get drunk and cause damage at the place, or disturb others, you will find
   yourself outside in no time.

Any damage caused in the estabilishment providing the partyplace must be
paid instantly. This includes the repainting of tagged walls, too. If the
sinner is not known, then we have to pay the caused damage from the
prizes. The building will be renovated immediately before the party, so
please, pay attention to the order.

The place lies in a residental area, therefore after 22 o'clock please
don't use your speakers at full volume, especially at the computers near
the windows. Keep this in mind also during the shows and compos. We will
remind you of this also in the loudspeakers. However, it would be the
best, if this time you leave your big speakers at home and confine
yourselfs with a headphone. This way everybody could hear his own and his
   neighbour's voice...

We can use the sports room as sleeping room, so there is plenty of space
for sleepy people. Although the room will be 'lined' with mattresses,
everyone should bring sleeping bags or blankets. The sports room also
includes showers, use these on behalf of everyone ;).

Because the party is two days long, everybody should bring enough food. Of
course you can also buy food here in a nearby shop, open from 5 till 22
   o'clock.

The organizing staff doesn't take responsibility for the hardware and
software brought to the event. Please take care of your stuff, 'cause
there are some light-fingered colleagues... If one of you should catch
someone 'in action', call the organizers, we will take care of him...

Preventing various disorders, there will be security guards at the party.
They are not against you, they are for you, and your machines' safety.
Please follow their directions, and cooperate with them. (Or else they
   will throw you out ;)

Take care of your enrty cards. Put it on your clothing onto a visible
place with the safety-pin provided. People walking around without cards
can be thrown out by the security! The entry card is also important
because without it, you won't get a voting sheet.
