1. Introduction

First of all, thanks to you to read this file ! You'll know everything about
our group (The Ultimate Patchers) and about the poke database we created for
CPCEMU 1.4

2. About The Ultimate Patchers

When a patcher and coder on Amstrad (Steph The Best) met a patcher and coder
on IBM PC (PAC-MAD), they decided to create The Ultimate Patchers. It was on
the 1st of January 1997 during a very long and exciting night, and since
then, we worked on the most important database for Marco Vieth's emulator. A
girl (JCK) joined us to test (thanks to her) all our patches. We are all
fond of music (any kind) and we're about to code our first jukebox demo.
We are all French, so we hope you'll excuse us if we make mistakes ....

3. About the poke database

As we say in France, "Impossible isn't French !" . When we downloaded for the
first time CPCEMU 1.4, we were happy to find a database. Unfortunately, we
had only 2 games we could patch : "1943" and "Skweek"; we then downloaded a
spanish database but there were some bugs (texts must not exceed 20 chars)
and we didn't know how to translate it. So, we decided to create another one,
in English, for many games with the help of other patchers (X-OR, Aragorn,
Mc Spe and some others we may forget). You may think we were crazy, but we
worked on a 386 SX-25 with a LCD black and white screen and with a floppy
drive (the hard drive has been damaged we don't remember when). The emulator
is running well, except for games that don't use the standard modes. Could
you guess how long we have to wait when we ask for our database on our old
computer ? More than 5 minutes, but the games are still playable, and it's
very cool ! The first database was ready on the 20th of january and there
were 23 games and it was a 35 Kb file. We didn't know at this time how to
upload it (we've sent many mails to help us) and, since then, it has grown
and it is today a 250 Kb file for 250 different games !
Some games are named twice because we had 2 versions of them ("Arkanoid 2"
and "Yie Ar Kungfu 1") and some others have different names depending on the
country they were distributed ("Le cinquieme axe" and "Crafton & Xunk" in
France are known as "The 5th axis" and "Get Dexter" abroad)
With these pokes, we almost finished all the interesting games, but a few we
downloaded haven't been ended because they were bugged ("Double Dragon 1"
resets the CPC after loading level 4, and "Yie Ar Kungfu 2" stops after the
3rd level). Has anybody completed "Jet Set Willy 2" ? We're looking for a map
and how to get all the objects ! Our favorite game is "Bob Winner".
All these pokes have been found with the built-in debugger ! Will you find
anything else for all these games ?
We would be very happy if you could translate this database in Spanish and in
German and send it back to us as the following adress :
mseguran@queyras.unice.fr (mention JCK as the subject of your letter)

4. Greetings
