By default macro definitions and sed script are
searched for in the directories /usr/doc/def and
/usr/doc/convert respectively.
These commands are described below:

max	Formats manual reference pages. Sed script
in this command is optional, and is used only
because of a problem with quotes in our Diablo.
man	Formats manual reference pages like max
	except without sed filter.
mm	Command used to invoke nroff with mm macros.
Be sure that you have system III nroff/troff
	before using this.
mx	Takes -n, -t, and -a switches to produce
nroff output, troff output, and ASCII troff output
using special macros built on top of mm.
mxx	This command formats given input files with
a .s extension to form files in the subdirectory
	nroff containing a .n extension.
pc	Counts nroff pages in a formatted file.
