What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package provides RICOH SD/MMC Bus Host Adapter Driver for Windows 
2000/XP users.

This release supports following system(s):

   - ThinkPad Z60m

To determine if you need to update RICOH SD/MMC Bus Host Adapter Driver,
refer to "Summary of Changes" section below.

To install RICOH SD/MMC Bus Host Adapter Driver, refer to "Installation 
instructions" section below.

To use the 3-1 Digital Media Reader full functionality, it is necessary 
to install another driver for Memory Stick, RICOH Memory Stick Bus Host 
Adapter Driver.  Please see the readme file for the driver.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

NOTE: ThinkPad Software Installer provides install/uninstall wizard
for device driver in following operating systems:
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP


Windows 2000

INITIAL INSTALL:
Note: Before installing the driver, this device appears as "PCI Device" 
      in Device Manager.

To install the driver, follow the instructions below.

Note: If the Found New Hardware wizard is started automatically when 
      Windows starts, follow the instructions starting at step 8.

 1. Extract this package onto your hard drive.
 2. Start Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, click Control Panel
 4. Double-click System.
 5. Click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
 6. Double-click PCI Device listed under Other devices.
 7. Click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver.
 8. Click Next.
 9. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended),
    and click Next.
10. Select Specify a location and click Next.
11. Click Browse.
12. Specify the folder you extracted this package to in step 1. 
    The default path is C:\DRIVERS\3IN1.  Then click 0pen.
13. Click OK.
14. Click Next.
15. Click Finish when the installation is completed.
16. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.

    ATAPI controllers.
 7. Click the Driver tab, then click Update Driver.
 8. Click Next.
 9. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)
    and click Next.
10. Check only Specify a location and click Next.
11. Click Browse.
12. Specify the folder you extracted this package to in step 1. 
    The default path is C:\DRIVERS\3IN1.  Then click 0pen.
13. Click OK.
14. Click Next.
15. Click Finish when the install is completed.
16. Click Yes when prompt to restart the computer.


Windows XP

INITIAL INSTALL:
Notes:
  - In the case of SP1:
	Before installing the driver, this device appears as 
        "PCI Device" in Device Manager.
  - In the case of SP2:
  	This device is recognized as "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host 
  	Controller", when the Windows native driver is installed. 

To install the driver, follow the instructions below.


Note: If the Found New Hardware wizard is started automatically when 
      Windows starts, follow the instructions starting at step 8.

 1. Extract this package onto your hard drive.
 2. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
 3. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 
 4. In case of Category View: Click Performance and Maintenance, then 
    click System.
    In the case of Classic View: Double-click System.
 5. Click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
 6. Double-click PCI Device listed under Other devices.
    Note: When two PCI Devices appear in the list, choose the one with
          the same PCI Bus number as one of the following:
        	- When "RICOH Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter Driver" has
                  not been installed:
           	  "Base System Device" listed under "Other devices"
        	- When "RICOH Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter Driver" has 
                  been installed:
            	  "Ricoh Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter" listed under 
                  "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
          The PCI Bus number can be checked using the following 
          instructions: 
                 1. Right click PCI Device
                 2. Select the General tab.
 7. Click the driver tab, then click Update Driver.
 8. In the case of SP2: Select No, not this time.
 9. Click Next. 
10. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
    and click Next. 
11. Select Search for the best driver in these locations.
12. Select Include this location in the search: and click 
    Browse.
13. Specify the folder you extracted this package to in step 1. 
    The default path is C:\DRIVERS\3IN1.  Then click Open.
14. Click Next.
15. Click Finish when the install was completed.
16. Click Yes when prompt to restart the computer.

    Secure Digital host controllers.
 7. Click the driver tab, then click Update Driver.
 8. In the case of SP2: Select No, not this time.
 9. Click Next. 
10. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
    and click Next. 
11. Select Search for the best driver in these locations.
12. Select Include this location in the search: and click 
    Browse.
13. pecify the folder you extracted this package to in step 1. 
    The default path is C:\DRIVERS\3IN1.  Then click 0pen.
14. Click Next.
15. Click Finish when the install was completed.

How to check the version of driver
----------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows 2000/XP.
 2. Click Start, then click Control Panel. 
 3. In case of Category View: Click Performance and Maintenance, then 
    click System.
    In the case of Classic View: Double-click System.
 4. Click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
 5. Double-click Ricoh SD Bus Host Adapter listed under IDE 
    ATA/ATAPI controllers.
 6. Click the Driver tab to check Driver Version.
