WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

  This patch changes the hardware setting of the following wireless 
  LAN adapters to correctly support the Limit Client Power Option of 
  the Cisco Wireless Access Point.

  - ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter
  - ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter

  The Limit Client Power is one of the Cisco Wireless Access Point
  options, which determines the maximum power level allowed on client
  devices that associate to the Wireless Access Point.

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models
  support which adapter cards.

  This program is language independent and can be used with any
  language system.

NOTES

- Make sure the Wireless LAN driver for each Wireless LAN adapter has
  been installed prior to applying the patch.
- As the hardware setting of Wireless LAN adapter is changed while
  applying the patch, you need an AC adapter and a charged battery
  pack.

APPLYING THE PATCH

Notes:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to
  apply the patch. To determine if you should apply the patch, refer
  to the Version Information section.
- Make sure the Wireless LAN driver for each Wireless LAN adapter has
  been installed, prior to applying the patch.
- You need an AC adapter and a charged battery pack to apply the patch.

Attention:
  Do not turn off or suspend the computer until the patch has been
  completed. IF YOU DO THAT WHILE THE PATCH IS STILL IN PROGRESS,
  THE WIRELESS LAN ADAPTER MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED.


Applying the patch:

1. Start Windows XP, 2000 and logon with administrative privileges. 
2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
   The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\77WK01WW 
3. Click Start, then click Run... 
4. Specify ArEEP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the 
   package in step 2, and click OK.
   Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\77WK01WW\ArEEP.EXE 
5. Wait for the prompt, "This module was updated".
6. Restart the computer.
